Attitude Generation X

Christmas came early at Victory Lane this December when NSA teams donated over 150 toys to Peoria children. The toys were donated as part of Peoria Fire Department's Christmas for Children. Each team donated a toy and NSA/Arizona paid the team's 2005 NSA registration fee. Many teams brought bags of toys donating a toy for each player, which really added to the toy tally!

The Holiday Bowl got off to a soggy start on December 4th when the men's portion of the tournament was rained out late Saturday afternoon. The tournament was rescheduled to January 30th at Victory Lane. Teams that remain in the Winner's Bracket include AZ Premier, Team Virus, Yard Dogs and Gil's 12 Pack.

On Sunday, the Coed teams persevered despite frigid conditions to name three Holiday Bowl Champions. Debbie Cole's AZ Diamondrunners defeated Performance Golf; City Boyz and Girlz, coached by Leonard Tartaglia, was victorious over Stingers and Laura Zinmaster's, Gen X, beat Starwood Hotels & Resorts. All Champions received embroidered NSA Windshirts.

What a difference a week can make! The Winter Nationals were played in absolutely perfect weather on December 11th at Victory Lane. AZ Error Crew, coached by Nathan Bolsveft went 5-0 in the men's lower division over Mike Pina's ShowTime squad. Newcomer Stray Dawgz came in 3rd over the always tough Just Us team.

It took the "If" Game to decide the Men's Upper Division with Isaac Ruiz's, Hitter's Row team double dipping the newly formed Los Diablos, coached by Gabriel Medina by the score of 22-15 and 23-16 respectively. Scott Manning's, Murphy's Law took 3rd place after losing a squeaker to Hitter's Row 15 -14. MIB, coached by Mike Runyon, took the long way around, losing their first game to finish with a 5-2 record in fourth place. Congratulations to both Winter National Championship teams who took home Worth Wheeled Bat Bags for First Place.

NSA/Arizona thanks all the teams for their generous holiday spirit in making these tournaments special holiday events. "Teams liked the fact that they were donating toys to less fortunate children. Therefore, the Christmas for Children Toy Drive will become an annual event in both the Holiday Bowl and Winter Nationals in 2005," stated Assistant State Director, Joan Lawson.

All the staff at NSA/Tournament Sports would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a happy New Year. See you next year.
