THIRTY-TWO TEAMS QUALIFY FOR TGS CHAMPIONSHIPS

On March 17 & 18, eighty -two teams met in the first leg of WORTH'S Triple Grand Slam to battle for a berth in the Triple Grand Slam Championships on September 23 & 24 at Victory Lane and Papago Parks.

Teams from Chicago, Michigan, Tucson, Yuma, Kingman, Gila Bend and Wickenburg came to the Valley of the Sun to compete for a chance at the Triple Grand Slam $25,000 award package.

In each leg of the Triple Grand Slam Series, winning teams still receive awards. However as a bonus $50 from each team's entry fee is deposited into a fund and divided up among the First, Second and Third Place teams in the Championships. The Triple Grand Slam Championship easily contains Arizona's largest tournament award package. Last year $13,000 in award money was given back to the winning teams at the Championships. (Teams that have qualified along with the current payout amounts can be found at the top of the Tournament Sports home page.)

Since every team must qualify to play in the Championships there is always a waiting list to enter. The Second Leg of the Triple Grand Slam will be held on June 9 & 10 at Victory Lane and Papago parks.

Upcoming tournaments include the COORS LIGHT ASA National Points Series I in Arizona on April 28 & 29. The Second Leg of the Arizona ASA Point Series will be held in Las Vegas on May 19 & 20. The ASA Point Series is a partnership of the ASA Pacific Coast region states that offers the point winners paid rooms to their ASA National Championship in their division. Also in May is the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in which the winning team will receive berths to both the Hispanic World in Tucson and the E National Championships in September at Victory Lane.
