Eighty-two teams competed in the COED WESTERN WORLD SERIES sponsored by WORTH
and MIKEN on September 27 & 28. Teams from seven states including Alaska
competed in three divisions at 4 valley complexes in the two day event.
When the dust settled late on Sunday afternoon, there were four World
Champions crowned.
In the C Division, the Arizona State Champion, Perfect Strangers beat out a
tough 12 Pak team with a perfect 4-0 record. Southern AZ Combo from Tucson
finished in 3rd place with Fresno Fury coming in 4th.
Because of time constraints, the 37 team D Division had Co-champions, No
Limit from Elk Grove, CA and G-Crew from Peoria, AZ. The two teams will share the
2003 WESTERN WORLD SERIES crown as well as receive 1st place awards, MVPs and
trophies. Third place was won by Down Right Nasty from Las Vegas with BJ
Shooters from California finishing 4th.
Hart's Heroes, all the way from Tumwater, Washington took the hard fought E
Division. Tribal, from Yuma, AZ finished a close second. The highest placing
Canadian team was Wet Dreams with a 3rd place finish. Wild Rice, another
Washington team, finished 4th.
The COED WESTERN WORLD SERIES featured a Team Social complete with a
Welcoming Ceremony, Honor Guard from Luke Air Force Base and the National Anthem
performed by Hillary Griffith on Saturday afternoon. Later that night there was a
live performance by the McCarty band.
