Three new Champions were crowned at the 2004 Men's NSA State Championships which were held at both Victory Lane and Rose Mofford Complexes on August 14th & 15th.

Teams from three different cities were represented in the "Winner's Circle". The "C" Champions - Brown & Brown/AZ Heat/Mizuno team were coached by Brent Blakeman from Mesa. Joseph Casado's, American Legion team came down from Flagstaff to battle the heat and take the "D" Division. Chata's, coached by Jessie Wielander, won the "E" Superworld berth and hailed from Chandler.

Brown & Brown went through the "C" division undefeated with a 4-0 record defeating RMS of Phoenix 15-5 in the Championship game. RMS finished the tournament with a 4-2 record. Tournament MVP awards were awarded to Randy Medina of Brown & Brown and to Greg Soto of RMS. The all-tourney players were Johnny Allen, Eric Chavez and John Grishem of Brown & Brown; and Curtis Horger, Danny Lopez and Jeff St. Onge of RMS.

The American Legion "D" champs had a long weekend in the heat of Phoenix, coming back through the loser's bracket after losing their first game on Saturday morning. They had to double dip the runner-up, Hard Rock Block (Lake Havasu), Sunday morning to take the Championship. Legion won a tight Championship game 15-12 and then ran away with the if game by a score of 23-13. "D" division MVP was Matt Austin of American Legion; while the HRB MVP was awarded to Coach Bob Stidd. AZ Bandits, coached by the late Charlie Pachta's son Mark, finished with a strong third place while Sanchos finished fourth. All-tourney honors went to: Jimmy Andrews, Calvin Clarkson, David Miller, Don Payne, Ron Payne and Leroy Welch of American Legion; John Bathaver, Roddy Friar, Brian Knarr, Louis Lucero and George Quinn of Hard Rock Block; with Rick Dush, Chris Fraze, John Lopez and Shon Saline of the 3rd Place AZ Bandits team of Taylor, AZ.

Chatas went through the winner's bracket undefeated until finally losing a tight contest in the Championship game to Gonzales SB Club (Casa Grande) 9-8. In the if game Chatas run ruled Gonzales 22-6. The third place Yard Dogs of Phx and fourth place Los Bad Boyz, both from Phoenix, played a tough 16-15 game in determining who moved on to meet Gonzales SB Club in the third place game.
