EIGHTY-TWO Hispanic teams particpated in the World Hispanic Championships on October 20-22 at Tucson Sportspark. When it was all over Los Guys won the competitive CI Division. A's Softball, a local favorite from Tucson, won in the CII Division. Players Klub traveled from Las Vegas to take the D Division. Stay Faded, another team from Tucson, was victorious in the E Division. In the Women's Division No Mas took the trophy in Division I and Just Us won in Division II.

As usual the Hispanic World Tournament got started on Friday with the live band and free Manager's dinner, the Team Social and the MIKEN Home Run Contest. egs and the Championships is placed into a pot and divided between the First, Second and Third place teams in each division.

Perfect weather and an outstanding venue made the World Hispanic tournament a great event for all the teams and their families. Arizona Hispanic Director, Leon Rodriguez said, "Overall the World Hispanic was the best tournament in Arizona in 2006. The tournament exceeded expectations in team numbers and spectators. What makes the Hispanic World Tournament so unique is all the local participation and support from the Tucson community. That is the main reason that the World Hispanic is returning to Tucson in 2007."

"I would like to thank all of the teams that traveled so far to play in this tournament to compete especially the Giantes Softball team," said Mr. Rodriguez, "They were a great bunch of guys who played with professionalism and spirit. This is the third year in a row that they have played"
